Terry Fox was a young athletic boy who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18. He made a pledge to run around Canada and raise money for cancer, after being in the hospital and realizing how big the effect cancer has on so many people. At the age of 22 he began his marathon called "Marathon of Hope". After being part way done, his cancer came back and spread to his lungs, causing him to stop running. Soon after that he passed away. However his memory lasts forever, and to this day schools around Canada are still doing his run.
