Artistic Composition and Technique: The arrangement of visual elements or things put together to make a work of art.

Rule of Thirds: Techniques used to locate saddle points in the picture, like putting a tic-tac-toe grid over the picture. When the main subject in the photo is one third out of the center

Points of Power: Points at which lines intersect in a photo.

The Golden Rule: Basically putting the main image in the picture a third of the way across from the frame instead of the center.

Vertical Lines: Lines that go across from angle to angle on a picture. When the picture is longer in heighth wise.

Horizontal Lines: The normal orientation when you look through the camera viewfinder, lines that go straight across a picture. When the picture is longer in width wise.

Oblique Lines: Lines that are neither perpendicular or parallel.

Curved Lines: They appeal to nature photos. Lines that have curves in them for example, S-curves are when they is something winding in the picture like a river.
